Where HSK comes into it
This site does not teach HSK. It only shows where an HSK result is written into the rules for study in China.
The national Measures set no HSK level
The Measures say Chinese is the basic language of instruction and that a school may provide remedial study for students whose level falls short. They leave admission conditions to each university's brochure. Chinese and an overview course on China are compulsory in degree programmes.
Chinese Government Scholarship
The guide asks for a pass in HSK Level 3 for Chinese-taught general scholar programmes, other than Chinese language majors, and for Chinese-taught senior scholar programmes. It asks for a pass in HSK Level 4 for Chinese-taught master's and doctoral programmes.
International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship
Every category in the 2025 guidelines asks for an HSK score report, and most also ask for HSKK. Score reports must be within their two-year validity.
Where to read about the test
Test levels, formats, dates and registration are published on the official test site, chinesetest.cn. This site does not repeat them.
