Traditional Chinese medicine and Taiji culture programmes: the one-semester and four-week conditions
The 2025 Application Guidelines for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship name traditional Chinese medicine and Taiji culture programmes in two categories. The one-semester category (item 5) requires HSK test scores for these fields and gives priority to applicants who also provide an HSKK score. The four-week category (item 6) requires an HSK test score and names no HSKK score.
See also HSK on this site.

Item 5 requires an HSKK score for the four fields with the minimum HSK score. For traditional Chinese medicine and Taiji culture, item 5 words the HSKK line as a priority, not a requirement.
Item 6 sets no minimum HSK score or level. Item 6 names no HSKK score for any of its groups.
What Appendix 1 supports
The opening sentence of Appendix 1 says the scholarship supports tuition, accommodation, living allowance (excluding four-week students) and comprehensive medical insurance.
For the one-semester category:
- Tuition is used by the Host Institutions for education and management, cultural programming and HSK tests (Appendix 1, item 1).
- Accommodation is free on-campus, typically in double rooms. With approval from the Host Institution, a recipient may live off campus. Students other than doctoral students then receive an accommodation allowance of RMB 700 per person per month, paid monthly or quarterly (item 2).
- The living allowance is RMB 2,500 per person per month (item 3).
- The medical insurance premium is RMB 400 per person (item 4).
For the four-week category:
- Tuition and accommodation are supported under the opening sentence of Appendix 1.
- The living allowance is excluded, as the opening sentence of Appendix 1 states.
- The medical insurance premium is RMB 100 per person (item 4).
Four-week arrangements
Item 6 says the programme may be organised and applied for by a Recommending Institution, with 10 to 15 participants per group. Before the trip, a detailed study plan must be made in consultation with the Host Institution(s). The plan must be submitted to CLEC for review and approval.
